6) What do you have to see in a book to say this is a great read? For me a great read must have interesting characters and a thick plot! The story should be smooth and not contain an excessive amount of fluff. I like authors to use the book as a canvass to paint a picture. If I can still recall characters long after I've closed the book it was an outstanding read for me.

7) What inspired you to begin your literary career? I actually started writing as an outlet for my grief during a dark period in my life, but I didn't pursue a literary career until 1995. At that time a fictional character named, Ida Mae (my debut novel) told me her story and I penned it. From that time on I was bitten by the literary bug!
